Eleven of the girls here just joined me for their first Tea Party ever. Three of the girls spent devotion time with me yesterday and this morning and I was sharing with them that I had hoped to have a Tea Party with some of the girls, what did they think? They said, Yes!!!! So we began to plan for it. They would go and discreetly invite 8 girls to join us so as not to hurt any of the younger girls feelings. And they were to say, dress like you would to go to church. It is summer time here and several of the girls are tom boys and play basketball or marbles during the day, so this would be brand new for them. They were to some to Pastor Pio and Nenettes home at 2:00 p.m.. Well, the girls that planned it with me were each in skirts and looked so beautiful and then some of the girls came in their jeans but nice shirts. It was so much fun. We started by me asking if anyone had ever had hot tea? None of them had!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found some flower petals to put on the table and had gone to the grocery store to buy cookies, cookie straws, and chocolate candies. We had cups and saucers and toilet paper for napkins and candles and music playing. I bought each of the girls a bookmark from the local Christian Book Store and gave them each one of the sunflower bookmarks that were made for this trip. You should have seen them all take the first sip, some loved it others were not impressed by they were gracious. Beverly began with prayer and then I told them what to do to their tea as far as adding cream and sugar if they desired.
After we had settled in with our tea and sweets I shared with them from a little booklet, My Heart Christ's Home, it tells about opening all the rooms of our hearts to the Lord and allowing Him to come in and be at home. The girls shared testimonies afterwards about how much they loved the message and one of the girls was very moved by it. Beverly said, She hoped this would be the beginning of this type of gathering and she will head up the next one after I am gone.
If we will just be who we are in front of them using our gifts and talents He will bless, they only want REAL!
We ended by all singing together, Amazing Grace!
Enjoy the Photos
Love you all, Cindy
