What a glorious day!
Up bright and early and off to the church. The ladies all me at 7:00 a.m. to prepare for the women that would come for Breakfast and registration between 8:00 and 9:00. Everything was wonderful, delicious and beautiful to the eyes. This church has been established for ten years and when the pastor came in to welcome all the ladies he said, " This is the first ladies conference that they have ever had at the church! My friend Elena only joined the church in March after attending FBC Atlanta and sitting under the pastorate of Dr. Charles Stanley for many years. The Lord had recently challenged her that she needed to step outside of her comfort zone and be His hands and feet in this little Filipino-American Church. Elena came to the U.S. when she was about 21 years of age and there is a large group of Filipinos in the Atlanta area. So soon after joining the congregation she asked me to come and lead this conference for the ladies. I told her I would love to and the rest is His Story!!!!
Today the ladies learned about their Covenant God! They saw the thread that runs deep in red through the Scriptures and were amazed by every dot and every crossing of the "t". I of course was only able to touch the service but I believe that the Lord used me to challenge them to walk in all that they are in Christ. To use the gifts and talents that God has given them to be salt and light in this community. He had me challenge them at the end of the last session as to how they might begin to impact the community surrounding their church for the Kingdom. How could they reach outside of themselves to love the people with the love of God. I shared with them about our ministries at FBC Umatilla, ex: Soup Kitchen Ministry, Haircut Ministry and the Crisis Center. The ladies got excited and believe it is something that is very easily achievable right away. They all agreed to pray and seek the Lord!
Once again I am the one who has been blessed to come and speak of the goodness and faithfulness of God. It is an honor and my soul leaps with joy as I humbly serve Him in this way.
I have attached a picture from today.
I will sing in the morning at the church and fly out tomorrow afternoon. Home again, Home again, giggidy gig!!!!!!!
Loving you with Jesus!
