I am so sorry that I have not been able to write since Wednesday but the Internet was not available last evening when I returned home from the Retreat. As of right now I have 3 bars which is very good but we will see if it lasts!!!! I looked for an Internet cafe this morning but with it being Good Friday all the business are closed. This afternoon at 1:00 a service was to start called the 7 Last Words of Jesus. I have come to learn that Filipino time is usually a bit late, so it was about 2:00 before we started and I just left for a moment, it was 3:45 and we were on the 4th Word. As I am typing it is still going on. So I thought I would take a break and see if I could connect with you all back home. The Retreat was alot of fun. everyone arrived about 2:00 on Wednesday afternoon in their Jeepneys(sp), the bus service here. There were 50 total including the young men who came to cook for us. What a delight they are, young men from the church, college age and they served us with such kindness. Because this was the 2nd Annual Retreat with these ladies I was able to reconnect with ladies that I had met last year. Two women in particular with gave their hearts to Christ last year. It was such a joy to see how they are doing and how they are growing in their walks. Both sat with me for a while and opened up about their lives. I challenge the women in a consistent quiet time with the Lord and how He longs for our fellowship as well as the Love the He has for each of them. We went from place to place to place in the Scriptures and focused on that love. I also was able to share with them from the Book "All we Like Sheep" and how the Lord compares us to sheep. Everyone was very receptive to His Words for them. We had movie night on Wednesday night, they loved "Letters to Juliet" and many of them were up swimming until 3 or 4 in the morning. Thank you all so much for funding this Retreat for this women. They were so touched by our generosity to finance this all expense paid get away for them. I love these women!! They have become some of my dearest friends, we cry, we laugh, we worship, we pray together! This trip to the Filipinos has been very special because I have had many opportunities to sit and with individuals and listen to what they are going threw, good and bad and use wisdom from the Lord to encourage them. Thank You Father. I have really bonded with Joseph this trip. While in the service earlier, he came up to me all decked out in the clothes that I bought him and he looked so handsome, and he wanted to sit by me!!! I love that boy!!!!
God Bless you all, Cindy
