I just finished my first session with pastors at the Seminary in Chimaltenango for a Pastors Conference. Wow, what fun! There are over 250 pastors here for the next 3 days. And the group tonight was so attentive. We finished early and I opened up the floor for questions and oh my goodness they asked many. These pastors are being bombarded by marriages that are b
reaking up because of infidelity and abandonment. I challenged the pastors that the cure begins within their relationships with Christ and in their homes. I showed the last chapter from "Courageous" and I watched them all nodding their heads in agreement with all that was being said. They were very respectful and sincerely desire to minister to their church families.
Prior to getting her today, I led Bible Study at Miriam and Adan's, we had a precious group of people. Then spent about an hour and a half with a 16 year old girl whose mother tried to kill herself this past year and shared about her home life with Zuly. Zuly invited her to come to meet Lynne and I and she brought her whole family. We called her mother upstairs and I was able to talk with both of them. It was beautiful to watch the Lord touch their hearts and breakdown barriers that were between them. Miriam and Adan are going to start meeting with this family to help minister to them as a whole and encourage them in their faith
Later we met with a neighbor of Miriam's whose son just ran off with a neighbor girl and is not coming back home. She and her husband and younger son are heartsick. There was no sign that they were even dating and yet one day he just left. She struggles with how to treat him now and the younger son is very angry and embarrassed by his brothers actions. Lynne was able to share a personal testimony with her that brought her encouragement. We are praising the Lord.
Yesterday began with me going to meet with a woman named Anna, 38 years old, to young children and an unfaithful husband. Anna is living in the home she grew up in. Her mother abandoned she and her father years ago and when he remarried the step mother supposedly was a Christian but very mean. Anna was raised in the Catholic Church but did not know the Lord. Her father and the step mother separated because they were having problems and soon after she hired some people to have Anna's father killed. Anna and her sister never tried to pursue having her tried out of fear for their own lives. The stepmother then said she wanted Anna out of the house that she grew up in saying it was now her home. Fortuantely a judge did not make her move but she is now renting it from the mother in law. All this to say, much despair. A friend of mine, Juanita, is Anna's neighbor and she has been ministering to her for some time. She told Anna that an American was coming who had been through a divorce and could I come to share with her. And actually she was very excited to have me come. While I was there the windows were shaking and making noise. I asked Juanita is we were having tremors and she said, no, that is the wind. But later all the window shook and the chandler began to sway. I even felt the house swaying back and forth. I was so blessed afterward to realize that my heart did not even begin to beat faster. How wonderful to know that I am in His hands and if I leave this earth, my home is prepared for me. By the way, after a long visit, Anna she did repent of her sins and surrender her heart to Christ. His love is amazing!
Then there was a friend of Miriam's that is separated from her husband because he left the family. Are you seeing a pattern here? I then met with another women named Ingrid over a cup of tea. Praise the Lord, yes she and her husband have struggled but they have committed to the Lord to heal their marriage. It goes on and on and on. I could be talking with people full time while I am here. I will not be back to the City until Sunday afternoon but Miriam has a few more people scheduled for me to touch with His love.
Thank you again for your prayers, I love you all, enjoy some photos.
